Experiencing China is a class held every Friday morning at Logan North Library, Springwood from 11:30am to 1:00 pm. The students have fun learning about the History and Geography of China. They also hear about the changes and development of China over the past 20 years. The tutor is Bryan Iles and he can be contacted on 3343 3141 or if you would like to join this vibrant class.

I visited the class during their last talk before the term break. The students had brought in some artefacts to discuss before their lesson started. It was a happy group of students very willing to take part in the activity. Friendships had obviously flourished during the term.

Bryan explains where the artifacts originated and what they are used for.

A close inspection of a jacket.

Happily a student models the jacket.

Jose (right)  and a friend discuss the lion mask.

Jane (left) and a friend show a Chinese Knot.

Bryan explains the  Tibetan Hada or prayer scarf and a calendar with Chinese "unfinished" art.

Bryan explains the Chinese Knot to the boys.

Another student displays his Chinese shirt, books, brochures, ornaments and art.

Then it was time to get down to todays lesson.

All students are given a map to follow along with the slide presentation.
