Members of the Tuesday Philosophy Group enjoying time out with the Muslim Ladies at their Springwood Centre.....getting to share stories and learning a little about each other's culture.....the ladies had some sad stories to tell but we also had fun .... must add they looked beautiful in traditional dress,... Lyn Hutchins , from our group, gave a talk and spoke very highly about the advantages of U3A and she is going to drop info in to them....Good results already as Janet & Maryanne have volunteered to teach them Mahjong etc and another lady wishes to join an art group....
Wow, what a coup. The History Class was able get renown Brisbane author Hugh Lunn to come and talk at the Logan North Library this morning, on the condition that it wouldn't be too early. No problems said Bryan, so the History Class swapped times with the Travel Group. Some members of that group then stayed on to listen to this very entertaining speaker.
Hugh told us about about his time in Vietnam, where he was a war correspondent for Reuters and his subsequent book about it, VIETNAM A Reporter's War. Of course, he mentioned his childhood and Catholic schooling and schoolboy adventures with his friends, as well as his home life with Fred and Olive and his siblings in that, by now, famous Pastry Shop in Annerly Junction.
Some of Hugh's bestsellers:
- Over The Top with Jim
- Head Over Heals
- Spies Like Us
- On the Road to Anywhere
As well as some political books:
- Joh: The Life and Political Adventures of Johannes Bjelke-Petersen
- Working For Rupert
Author Hugh Lunn addresses the History Class

It was a great pleasure to listen to Hugh in person, having read most of his books over many years.
